Hi Kandace! Best news EVER when we found out you had come home! We will continue praying for daily miracles for you. I'm ready to come and give you another foot massage AND a head massage. Just text me and I'll be there! We all love you and your family and feel very blessed to have such great friends. Love, Diane
ReplyDeleteHi Kandace,
ReplyDeleteI totally understand about the hair thing. That is definitely the worst, but it does grow back, and I have a really 'far out' wig you can borrow when you feel like it. I am so glad you are home from the hospital. I just got back from a short trip to visit Dustin and am home for the rest of the summer. So, if you need any errands run, let me know. My email is: michael.christiansen@usu.edu. If there is anything else I can do for you, I am there for you. I have had women in Relief Society wanting to do things to help. You just need to give us the word. By the way, does any food sound good to you? I liked almonds, kraisins, and salty things. I became a connoisseur of pretzels. I'll bring you a package of my favorite. If you lose all your hair, you will want to get a little 'thinger' (I can't remember what it is called) that covers your head at night while you sleep. Your head will get cold. Who would have thought that we need hair for more than just to look cute. I had one, but I sent it to DI. I'm not sure where I got mine, but I think it was in Salt Lake. Let me know if I can 'get on' that for you. I am so proud of you for fighting like a girl. I knew you would. In the meantime, know my prayers are with and for you. We don't say any prayers at our house without your health and recovery being in them, so keep fighting.
Love,
Kathy Christiansen
Who would've thought we could share this experiance and laugh and cry all at the same time!! Thank you for making me a part of your incrdible journey, you have made me grow so much as a person and made me realize what is so important in life! Hair is only what is on the outside. It is your beautiful inside that I am so honored to see each and everyday. This makes me appreciate what a remarkable woman you are!! I love you so much, I love our talks, and I cherish our friendship!! And yes, you are right, we will cut your hair everyday if that's what we have to do!! (tell Randy to have the vacuum ready)! Love you, and have a great day! Keep your chin up, and your thoughts up also. See ya soon!
ReplyDeleteHey Kandace!
ReplyDeleteI know how it feels to lose your hair....that was the hardest thing for me too! It's taken 5 years for it to grow back to the length it was before I lost it, but its more beautiful, full and better than it was when I lost it.
Hair is just hair and I know you feel like it makes you who you are but it doesn't. WE ALL know who you are and admire, love and support you no matter what.
Hang in there...this too shall pass. It's just a bump in the road. Someday you will be looking back like me and barely remembering it...
Hugs!
Mandy Pitcher :)
I love to read the other sisters' comments. They are so thought provoking and beautiful. It is rather odd the things that bother us sometimes. My mom had to cut most of her hair because she had shoulder surgery and couldn't care for it. She was telling me on the phone how frustrating it was. We love you Kandace, you know the hair doesn't matter to us. I saw this lady at the 4th of July fireworks that had the biggest hairdo I've ever seen. It was at least two feet wide and two feet long. It made her face look very small. And she was quite serious about it. So the moral of the story is...we are more than the stuff that grows from our scalp. Love, Jaylynn
